Sabudhana Sheviyan
(sweet sago vermicelli)
Ingredients:
100 gm vermicelli
50 gm sago
5 gm poppy seeds
½ litre milk
25 gm sugar
5 gm cashew nuts
5 gm almonds
5 gm pistachio
5 gm walnuts
5 gm raisins
½ tsp rose-water
50 gm ghee for frying
Method:
Soak the sago in one cup of water for three hours. Fry all dry fruits and keep aside. In a kadai heat 1 tsp dalda oil and lightly fry the poppy seeds. Add a big glass of water, and when it boils put in sugar. Bring to boil for some time then add the sago. Lower the heat and continue boiling for another 15 minutes. Then add the vermicelli and boil for another 5 minutes. Add rose-water, mix in all dry fruits and serve.
